If your child wants to learn how to sew and you don’t have the time or knowledge, this class is for them! We teach students the basic fundamentals of the sewing machine and how to sew a straight seam. (We use our sewing machines – please don’t bring yours).
Children choose their own fabric (front and backing) for this class. Fabrics for the front of the quilt will need to be purchased and cut before class. If you wish, a teacher will cut the fabric for you for a $5 fee. If we are cutting for you, we will need the fabric at least one week before class begins. If you do your own cutting, be sure you cut accurately for your kid’s success.

2nd Time Around
Graduates of Kids Kamp will choose their own fabrics for this quilt and pillowcase. We will build on previously learned skills and aim toward an accurate ¼” seam allowance and rows that are the same length. They will also read a simple pattern to determine the order pieces are sewn together.

It’s a pillow – NO – it’s a quilt – NO – it’s a Magic Pillow Quilt! This project features an Ohio Star pillow that is attached to a quilt. When the quilt is folded and tucked inside, it transforms into a pillow. What fun to take to a sleep-over or on a trip. Choose your own fabrics to make a stripy quilt and pillow for an item that is uniquely your own. In addition we will make a cute quilted, zippered bag. What fun!
June 25 – 29, Monday – Friday, 1:30pm – 4:30pm
Back by popular demand…How could you not fall in love with a heart quilt? Select your own fabrics and learn basic machine appliqué. Some pre-class work to prepare heart for appliqué is required. If you are not familiar with preparing fabric with Soft Fuse for appliqué, you can attend a short pre-class meeting on Thursday June 14 from 7-7:30pm to learn how. If this is a problem, you can email Emilee at firstname.lastname@example.org to make other arrangements. Fabric will need to be cut before class. If you wish, we can cut it for you for $5. We will need fabric at least 1 week before class. If you cut it yourself, be sure you cut accurately as a quilter cuts or the pieces will not fit together. We look forward to seeing you this summer!
July 30 & 31, Monday and Tuesday, 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Come join the fun making this quilted tote bag for yourself or as a gift. Show off your sewing skills creating this roomy bag, approximately 14.5” x 15” x 5.5” using five fabrics that can be as bright or subtle as you wish. This tote bag can carry sewing supplies, books, toys, etc., with exterior pockets holding smaller items such as cell phones, keys or water bottles. Use the focus material on the pockets or on the main bag exterior and compliment with the other four fabrics. This is a two-session class.
Mother / Daughter Make an Animal
July 12 & July 19, Thursday Evenings, 5:00pm – 8:00pm
Put a smile on everyone’s face by making a stuffed dog using Jodie Carleton’s pattern – “Best in Show”.
Have shared fun with a child and one accompanying adult (relative, guardian or friend), each producing a small stuffed animal (about 5.5” x 10”) – a dachshund with a happy grin. Sew matching dogs or make each creation unique. Learn these techniques: making templates, sewing the body by hand and machine, some hand embroidery, and stuffing. Cutting will be done in class. Child and adult will share a sewing machine. This is a two-session class.
Advanced Kids Kamps
