 Meet
Jeanie
Jeanie learned to quilt more than 25 years ago when an older woman at her church taught Jeanie and several other women to quilt on a yellow whole cloth quilt. She loved the camaraderie of quilting with friends around a large frame, she says. "I am a people person so those days were invigorating for me." Quilting for Jeanie continues to be an art she shares with her church. She and a friend pieced and appliquéd a 90x90 wall hanging for their new church's foyer. It's based on the book Biblical Blocks and "was the most challenging quilt I've ever done." Jeanie has been a part of the Oklahoma Quiltworks shop for 12 years. She and her husband Perry have two sons, Paul and Matt. They are also the proud grandparents of Heidi, 6; Hannah, 4; and Pierce, 2. About four years ago, Jeanie compiled "This is your life" books for each of her sons. This led to another venture; she is now a Creative Memories consultant. |
