Meet
Charlcie
Charlcie’s life has always been filled with quilts. Her grandmother and great-grandmother quilted and she says she "always had lots of quilts to sleep under." That early love of quilting became a part of her life after her children were born. She took a Log Cabin class and admits she knew nothing about a rotary cutter when she first began. Charlcie has been with Oklahoma Quiltworks for 10 years and coordinates all of the classes at the shop. She’s always working on several projects at once since she’s usually looking for class ideas. And teaching beginners is one of the things she most enjoys about quilting. She also enjoys piecing by machine and hand quilting. Charlcie and her husband Roger have two grown children: Kerri and Ryan. They also have five grandchildren: Trenton, 8; Raiden, 8; MacKenzie, 6; Alexis, 3; and Eryn, 2. Charlcie says her oldest granddaughter has made a quilt and is already working on her second! When she’s not at the shop, Charlcie enjoys gardening and singing in a small group. She’s a member of her church choir and teaches Sunday School to second graders. |
