It all started with an effort to organize my stash. Oh, my goodness! After sorting fabrics into manageable stacks, I was left with a mountain of miscellaneous scraps. What to do with all these scraps??? They brought back memories of favorite quilts and the people I’d made them for, so I couldn’t throw them away. But how could I possibly use so many disparate pieces?? Ta-da, the light bulb came on, make a string quilt! All I can tell you is that it was fun and it was liberating. No need to match points and no need to coordinate colors. All it takes is a pile of scraps and an adventuresome spirit. Gigi will be showing you how to hand piece these as it makes a nice take-a-long project, but you can machine piece if you prefer.
