Practical Color Application
A beginner / intermediate level class

1 session - $25.00 – with Barbara Chaffin

I love color and enjoy every opportunity to work with it.  I know that this is often not the case for many quilters.  Helping customers in the shop has made me aware of how often quilters dread this task and feel unsure of themselves.  They don’t trust their own color sense and are not optimistic that the situation will ever improve.  That said, I’ve been thinking about teaching a color class for a long time but have wondered how to make it truly user friendly.  I want my students to come away with a strategy for approaching color and how to put together a palette for a project that pleases them.  So this class is not going to focus on color theory! Instead it will be about getting a grip on some guidelines as you compose the colors for a quilt.  It will also be about the questions you should be asking yourself and the fabric as you edit and refine your composition.  There will be lots of student/teacher interaction in this class and not much traditional lecturing.  There’s a tiny bit of homework before hand, but nothing major. Come play with me!
