Class Policies & Requirements

Requirements for taking classes:
On occasion we still have individuals who enroll in classes that do not know how to use a rotary cutter and do not have basic quilt making skills. You are required to know how to use a rotary cutter and have basic quilt making skills in order to enroll in any class that requires the use of a rotary cutter. Teachers are placed in an awkward position having to take time away from the class as a whole to teach one person how to use the rotary cutter.

To get a firm foundation we recommend that you take the Basic Quilt Making class first. This class is geared for those who know absolutely nothing, but can also be helpful to those who have been making quilts for several years but have never taken a class.

Reservations:  Classes are reserved on a first come basis.  Only full payment of the class fee will reserve the class for you.  Phone 405-842-4778 to charge reservations to your Visa/Mastercard or Discover or use our convenient, secure online shopping cart by clicking on the "Enroll Now" link at the bottom of the class description.

Magic Numbers:  We will cancel a class if less than the minimum number of students required has not been met five days before the class begins.  If we cancel, we will happily (a) refund your class fee (b) apply the amount toward another class, or (c) apply the amount toward the purchase of merchandise.

Refunds:  Your class fee is refundable or transferable up to one week (seven days) prior to the first time the class meets.

Supplies:  This class schedule is offered as a courtesy and a service to our customers.  We would appreciate it if you purchase your supplies at Oklahoma Quiltworks. To encourage this, we offer a 10% discount on class supplies which remains valid as long as the class is meeting.  Be sure to ask, whether you're signing up in person over the phone, or by mail, for a supply list.  You should always receive a supply list unless you are told that there is none for the particular class.

Weather: In case of bad weather, Oklahoma Quiltworks will follow the Public School closings. If your class is cancelled, either the class will be made up at a later date or your money will be refunded.

Visitor/Baby/Cell-phone No-No:  Please do not bring visitors or children to class. If you must bring your cellular phone, please keep it off during class as a courtesy to the teacher and other class members.  We are happy to let you know if you have an emergency call.  If you are feeling ill, please be respectful of your fellow classmates and shop personnel.

Note:  Please, mark your calendar when you sign up for classes. We do not make reminder calls.  If there is a change in the scheduled class, we will try to contact you. If a class is canceled, we will let you know.

Sewing Machines:  We would like to remind you that we are privileged to provide both Bernina and Pfaff sewing machines to our customers for class use.  We have a total of 6 machines. Please, remember  if  you need to use one of the machines,  ask the staff person waiting on you to place your name on the list. You may also reserve the type of machine you would like to use if you have a  preference.
