PLACEMATS & NAPKINS

4 PLACEMATS - Finished placemats are 19 x 13.
¾ yd. each of 2 fabrics
5/8 yd. contrasting fabric to make 260” of bias binding
Quilter’s Dream Poly Select Loft
I layered my fabrics wrong sides together with the batting in between and quilted the one large piece then cut it into 4 – 19 x 13 pieces and bound them. You could also cut them out first and quilt them individually, whatever is easiest for you. (Spray basting is perfect for this.)
Finished placemats are 19 x 13.
4 NAPKINS
1 1/8 yd. fabric for hemmed edges OR
1 yd. for serged edges.
Napkins finish at approximately 18” square. Cut them 20” and turn under 3/8” twice and hem or cut 18” and serge the edges.
Optional Tools: Katie’s Korners Radial Rule to round the corners on both the placemats and napkins.
Clover #25 Bias Tape Maker for 7/16” binding (that’s wider than 3/8 but not as wide as ½”.) Binding strips are cut 1 ¾” wide.
NOTE: I used the Radial Rule to round the corners on the placemats making the single fold bias binding easy to apply. I also rounded the napkins which made serging the edges easier.
