If your child wants to learn how to sew and you don’t have the time or knowledge, this class is for them!  We teach students the basic fundamentals of the sewing machine and how to sew a straight seam. (We use our sewing machines – please don’t bring yours).  They will sew together pre-cut squares to make a throw size quilt.  What a great way to spend a week of summer mornings!

Kids choose their own fabric for this class. Fabric will need to be purchased and cut before class. If you wish, a teacher will cut for you for a $5 fee.  If we are cutting for you, we will need the fabric at least one week before class begins.

2nd Time Around – KWILT KAMPS

For young quilters who have previously attended “Kids Kamp” –

Class tuition: $48
Additional Cost: Students purchase their own fabrics, plus approx. $22 for class supply kit (notions & batting). (Tuition/Supply Kit cost due at enrollment.)

We will build on previously learned skills and aim toward an accurate ¼-inch seam allowance and rows that are the same length. They will also read a simple pattern to determine the order pieces are sewn together.

With only four fat quarters of fabric, we will make this tote large enough for letter-sized papers and notebooks. Step by step, we will walk you through the process on reading a pattern and putting all the pieces together. Make it your own with your fabric choices!

3rd Times the Charm- BFF Pillow

Students must be 10 years or older and have successfully completed 2nd Time Around -

Best Friends Forever! Make two throw pillows, one for you and one for your BFF. Each pillow features a picture of you and your BFF at its center. Before class, you will need to send an e-mail with the photos attached and we will print them on fabric. You will sew and quilt the pillows using fabrics of your choice. The pillows feature a log cabin design to frame your pictures. Share some special memories and your sewing skills with this quick and cuddly project.

Fabric will need to be cut before class. If you wish, we can cut for you for $5. We will need the fabric at least 1 week before class.  If you cut yourself, be sure you cut accurately as a quilter cuts or the pieces will not fit together.  Note: The approximate material costs for this class – fabric $33,  Two pillow forms purchased elsewhere- $12


3rd Times the Charm – Magic Pillow Quilt

Students must be 10 years or older and who have successfully completed 2nd Time Around –

It’s a pillow… No, it’s a quilt! Well, it is both. A pillow that can be unfolded and become a quilt. How cool is that! Great for road trips, sleep overs, or just for cuddling at home. We’ll make a pieced pillow and attach it to a strippy quilt. A matching zippered bag is a nice extra.

Fabric will need to be cut before class. If you wish, we can cut for you for $5. We will need the fabric at least 1 week before class.  If you cut yourself, be sure you cut accurately as a quilter cuts or the pieces will not fit together.  Note:  The approximate cost for fabric is $65

Students must be 10 years or older and have successfully completed 2nd Time Around –

How could you not fall in love with a heart quilt? Select your own fabrics and learn basic machine applique. Some pre-class work to prepare heart for applique is required. If you are not familiar with preparing fabric with Soft Fuse for applique, you can attend a short pre-class meeting on Monday, July 25th, 9:30-10am to learn how. If this is a problem, you can call Sandy at 751-7112 to make other arrangements.

A Slice of Summer Quilt

For students who have completed 3rd Times A Charm classes

We are excited to offer a new quilt this year for our advanced students who have passed 3rd year classes. A Slice of Summer is a fun colorful quilt that involves appliqué and piecing “slice fabrics of a student’s choice onto black and white text prints.  The class kit includes: background fabrics, appliqué/quilting thread, batting & basting spray.

Students will need to purchase additional materials listed on supply list, such as soft fuse and template plastic.

Please note there is required pre-class homework for this class. Emilee will be available to do demonstrations of pre-class homework on Thursday June 2 from 5-00pm-8:00pm or Friday June 10 at from noon to 1:00pm. Attendance at one demonstration time is highly recommended.  See the supply list for more detailed information.

Make a fun tote by personalizing the black-and-white coloring fabric and then learning the steps to construct a bag.  In this class, you will learn to read a pattern, construct a tote complete with a lining pocket.
