New Fall Flannels arriving soon!

September is here, fall is in the air and soon the smell of pumpkin, gingerbread and warm cinnamon apples will fill the air.  It’s also a great time to start thinking of a new flannel quilt, for friend, a loved one, or maybe even for yourself.

Elements from Windham will be arriving any day.  These flannels are soft and warm and will be great for a snuggly quilt.  Herringbone, checks, stripes, polka dots and plaids in an array of blacks, reds, greens, tans, browns, golds and blues.

Will keep you posted so check back often to find out the arrival date.

While at market, I spied this fun, modern quilt, not my usual cup of soup, but for some reason I was attracted, maybe to the fabric, maybe to the pattern.

From Bernatex comes the fabric line, Word Play.  If you are looking for a fabric line dedicated to quilting jargon, then this would be the fabric line.

Sage Greens, choclates, creams and blacks make up this fun, “Word Play”, quilt fabric.

Pattern from Quiltsoup!  Very easy to follow and quick to make.  PS…you will have almost enough fabric left over from making the front of the quilt, to strip piece the back of your quilt.

Luna Notte by 3 Sisters

While at spring market, we found this adorable pattern, Love at Home, from Under the Garden Moon.  Tiny sawtooh stars surround appliqued vines,  sprouting around a vintage salt box house.  Debbie was hooked, since she is our tiny star queen.  Of course, we are all hooked on using  Eleanor Burns flying geese rulers.  The next task at hand was finding the right fabric.  From 3 Sisters comes Luna Notte, a vintage, romantic collection that will capture your heart, with memories of yesterday.  Soft grays, pinks and acquas with rustic reds and blacks.  This was definitely our pick!

If you haven’t used Eleanor Burn’s flying geese ruler, you will definetly want to check out our tutorial page for using her method to make four perfect flying geese at one time.

Origins

From fabric designer, Basic Grey comes a new line “Origins”.  Greens meet yellows, chocolate browns and blacks in a crisp look for fall.  Of course, you know how much I love the fabric lines from Basic Grey and this one is no exception.  Moda is also a great source for providing projects with their fabric lines.  I was intrigued by the  “Hunter’s Star”.  The quilt comes from the book “A Bakers Dozen” and is made from a layer cake and a jelly roll .
